A Mystery We Can’t Explain

FCOP District Supervisor, Longkit, stands with Pastor El Sim and her daughter who was raised from the dead.

Some things can’t be explained. Pastor El Sim’s daughter died of Leukemia about ten years ago. The next day our District Supervisor, Long Kit, went to conduct the funeral. When he arrived he knelt down next to the body to pray with El Sim. The daughter, dead nearly two days, rose up, and is still alive and cancer free after 10 years, and that’s after two failed bone marrow transplants in Australia! Fast forward 10 years to September 2015. Maybe, the problem was that we didn’t know the specific diagnosis for Elizabeth, a 14 year-old girl from the Krava Church Home, who died of Leukemia this month. I thought she had some kind of hemorrhaging. She was up and chatting in the morning and slipped away to Jesus that night. She had great faith and trust in the Lord. No one was led to pray for a resurrection, as we knew where she was, and how happy she was. You always second guess your failures and I can’t explain it but maybe it had to do with John 12:24, “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it produces much fruit.” At her funeral in excess of 100 people received the Lord; 60 of them were classmates at her school.
