This has been a record year for church home renovations. Our local teams rebuilt three church homes this month and, the “Booshway Boys” (Mountain men) from the Lafayette, Colorado area of the USA, put a new face on one of our older homes. The home got a new cafeteria building, new paint, and new front fence. This was an expensive rebuild for a struggling church. This refreshing is much more than physical, it also demonstrates a new hope for the area spiritually, in an area with a new District Supervisor and a fresh focus on the “Kingdom”.    

 Drinking water in many locations is a big problem and our rice farm has no well. The geology of Cambodia will not support wells in many locations around the “Great Lake.” It is like drilling a hole in a giant block of cheese, there is no lateral movement, so wells simply don’t work. Our water source is a pond (reservoir) void of fish and ducks, but covered with aquatic weeds. The water is a murky green color. We were having to buy drinking water in 20 liter bottles at $1.00US per bottle for about 60 people, including the Balang church/ home. …  

 Six of our key leaders went to attend a five day teaching session with Bethy Barone, one of our FCOP Int’l board members. They covered several of the key teachings of Bar One Ministries, the key element being that God loves you so much He’ll do anything to get you back into His Kingdom, out of the muddy water and into the clean. You gotta love a God like that!  

Kheuon’s earliest memory is of his mom. She was always sick, and his dad faithfully cared for her. Then his mom died and, not long after, his dad died as well. Kheuon remembers his grandparents looking for help, but their village and region were so impoverished that no one could take in three extra mouths to feed, including his grandparents. He and his two brothers were temporarily taken care of by their grandparents but the grandparents didn’t treat them well, stopping just short of kicking them out. Sorting out the demonic from the physical can be difficult and there is always crossover. Historically, September is by far the wettest month of the year in Cambodia. The first 12 days were dry and on the seventh of September the chief meteorologist for Accuweather released a very pessimistic (physical) forecast of heat and drought for the region. We lost about 75 acres to drought for the second time (about 10% of the crop). Paul Mok, our Farm manager, was being tormented with spirits manifesting at night and keeping him awake. Nineteen Young Lions returned to Tumnup Island for more ministry. Despite the fact that most of the people have received Christ through EL Sim’s ministry, there were pockets of demonic oppression, and some groups that had resisted the gospel. The Lions determined to take on the problem. There was a special commissioning service at our main Training Center and many of them received specific visions and instructions. The results validated their spiritual astuteness. They discovered that there was a wide diversity in the ages of those who needed Christ, so they broke into three teams; one for adults, one for …  

Three new church buildings are under construction. This month, four large, 100 member plus, home churches donated land for buildings. These pastors stood at the front of our recent general training, and handed over the deeds. Now, we need a way to help them get these buildings up! There were several other smaller, local, training sessions this month, involving about 170 key leaders. At one training, a pastor who had been paralyzed for two years from a stroke and had every treatment the medical profession could deliver, was healed and walked out of the meeting.
