Crunch Time!

Well, it’s crunch time for FCOP! The government’s “New Standards” are supposed to be in force. The Cambodian government deserves a lot of credit for trying to develop Cambodia but they often are influenced by the wrong people. Because the government lacks the money, organizations that come with funding are often given undue influence. They want a new system for caring for separated children, but have no viable alternative; they simply want to destroy what is there. FCOP has worked tirelessly to meet these “New Standards.” We have relocated about 25% of our children to relatives and smaller homes, refurbished dozens of homes, brought in thousands of new mattresses, sheets, pillows, school uniforms, etc. This is all good but it has cost us dearly.
