Devilish Lie

The word “Orphan” has almost become politically incorrect. Organizations worldwide are scrambling to remove “Orphan” from their name.  The concept pushing this is called “Behavior Change Marketing”. Basically it leaves few survivors. The program involves “guilting” the people you want to change. It was the method used by hotels; when you go to a hotel and see the card on your bed asking you to “Save the environment” by not changing your sheets and towels. If you don’t do it you feel guilty, and if you do, you feel like a hero, and the hotel makes money. This method is being used to reduce the number of orphan care facilities. A group of large international organizations acquired a ‘Madison Avenue’ advertising executive put together the video that presents all residential orphan care organizations as evil. I call it: “A Devilish Lie”. It has some merit, as there are orphan homes that do tourism, run scams, and are operated for profit, etc. but the collateral damage is huge! What happens to the good ones, like FCOP?
