Home Refurbishing

Any homeowner knows about maintenance and upkeep of their house. We have over 100 homes that house orphaned and abandoned children. We often use visiting teams to help with some of the upkeep and projects. Without having a foreign team in the last two years and funding for projects taking a hit because of it, we’re in a deep hole trying to keep our church home buildings in good repair. We’re grateful for churches who have done virtual teams with us (if you’re interested, feel free to contact us) and for our own staff who we send all over Cambodia to help work on some of the most pressing projects. We would send them more but we don’t have the funds to buy materials and send them out. We recently scrapped together the finances to repair and refurbish two of our church homes. Over the course of two weeks, with staff working tirelessly, the homes look new again

But, the work is not done yet. Right now we are in a great need for paint. The Women’s Dorm has not been painted since it was new in 2008. Almost all of our churches are in a similar condition and we are in need of a good quality, mildew resistant, exterior paint/sealer for going over concrete. It is causing us a great deal of ridicule as locals think it odd that we would build such beautiful facilities for the Lord and not maintain them. We could easily use 20,000 liters (14,000 liters of yellow, 5000 liters of green and 1000 liters of white). The Government likes everything in a ‘baby chicken yellow’ trimmed in white. We can use a dark green on the bottom 2 meters as it hides the kids’ hand prints and scuffs. Some of you may be able to send money or someone may know of a paint manufacturer that might help. Or, maybe find some benefactors to help purchase a good quality paint and send us a container full? Anyway, if there is any way you can help us it would be gratefully appreciated!
