22 Years of Progress

FCOP is multiplying by loving, caring and mentoring the next generation of leaders. It's amazing to see kids that FCOP was raising as toddlers 22 years ago, now leading the charge at doing the same for the next generation. Thany (pictured above on the left), pastor and FCOP board member, is a prime example of how the church has continued to multiply.  Click Here to watch Thany's story.

Together with the passion of our young leadership like Thany and FCOP's strategy to bring holistic health to Cambodia through addressing spiritual, economic, and social needs, we believe lasting change can happen. Our refuge centers are offering educational opportunities as schools throughout the country remain closed. Thankfully, because of technology the kids in our care are able to continue their Khmer studies using online school as well as small group in person lessons led by our staff. Socially, since the outbreak of COVID, the world has seen an increase in isolation and depression amongst young people, but we're thankful to see the kids living at our FCOP refuge centers thriving, as they have a built-in support system, surrounded by many brothers and sisters.

Through FCOP's 22 year work in Cambodia, there have been many ups and downs. Through all of the challenges, all of the victories, the surprises, the defeats, one thing has always been at the center: building the church of Jesus Christ in Cambodia. With the right outlook, challenges and defeats are not void of value. They are preparation and training for what is ahead. Even though the events surrounding COVID-19 have worsened in 2021, the Siem Reap province of Cambodia has felt devastating effects ever since tourist visas were first revoked early in 2020. The entire city runs on 99% foreign tourism. To say the economy has been wrecked is an understatement.

Even with these challenges, the church has continued to multiply, in multiple ways. Our church pastor in the area has continued to minister. Church groups have been planted, disciples have been made, and the church continues to multiply. One group has grown so much and sustained at that level that they are praying in faith for a building. We're in no position financially to sponsor it as our challenges financially are overwhelming. In addition, prices have steadily become more expensive (both labor and materials) over the last five years, and have sky-rocketed during COVID (materials). Please pray with us in faith to find a way and if you or anybody you know feels moved to sponsor the building of a church, please get in touch.
