Bacteria and Rain
Water filters and playgrounds are needed at our church/homes. Water filters keep the kids healthy, and the playgrounds keep them happy. Playgrounds are "kid magnets" drawing an entire community to come to hear about Jesus. Our playgrounds, made with powder coated steel, start to rust through after about three years under our acid rain, and require constant painting and repairing. "Ol'e Bob and Crystal", that's Bob and Crystal Hollandsworth, have been doing a lot of maintenance this past month, not just on the playgrounds, but especially the water filters. Well water that looks clear is usually carrying some type of E. Coli bacteria, which will make you quite sick. Several of the homes rely upon reservoirs to store rainwater, and they are even more polluted, and often require more sophisticated purification. With hard rains and erosion the water usually gets pretty murky by November. Thanks to the Hollandsworth's the filters are clean at many of the homes, and though Bob and Crystal work as hard as time and money will allow, we can say with truth and affection for their hard labor; Everybody! All together now, "It's about time!"
