ECFA Certfied!
FCOP is finishing up our 18th year in Cambodia, what a ride it has been. We never realized how this ministry would grow, or we certainly would have started differently. At first we just were funded as missionaries, then as we started adding hundreds, and then thousands, of orphans we needed help. We partnered with a US based orphan care organization for about ten years, they had the 501(c)-3 rating, ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) approval, and all of that good stuff for donors like you. Then we had a parting of vision. Vision can unite and vision can divide and it doesn't mean one is right and the other is wrong, just different. We are primarily a church planting organization, they were primarily orphan care, so we split. In 2011 we stated over, under a small family run 501(c)-3, as a Limited Liability Corporation. It made all of your US contributions tax deductible, but we no longer had the charitable giving ratings under ECFA. In 2013 we received our own 501(c)-3 listing as FCOP International. We had to submit three years of tax Audits before we could get an ECFA certification. We got it in November! PTL! Everybody! All together now, "It's about time!"
