Encouragements from a friend
Dr. Mike Callan is on the faculty of the University of Iowa. He has led at least 15 Dental teams to Cambodia and during that time he has visited children from virtually every FCOP home. He had a comment about Chom Rong's story and our recent hardships, especially the persecution from UNICEF:Thank you for sharing Chom Rong's story. I have known him for quite a while but never knew his testimony. It explains a lot. “Sometimes Smiling eyes have been washed by tears.” Thank you God for all that You have done in Chom Rong’s and so many others lives, myself included.I long to never be as Job’s friends, casting doubt on a man of great faith. I long to be an encourager, despite the setbacks!I want you to know that I am a changed man because of what God has done in me through You and your ministry. God Bless You for that! There are times I feel a bit like a spectator and wish that I could do more to bear your burden and all I can do is cheer for the man in the arena, but at least I can cheer loudly enough for Him to hear me and know that I am rooting for him. I am rooting for you Ted & Sou. I have long thought of you as a modern day George Mueller, but I think perhaps there are even more parallels between William Carey and You. There are so many similarities between His and yours/ ours opposition. While Carey had the resistance of the East India Trading Company and the culture of India. We have UNICEF seemingly eager to fill the roll. (It should come as no surprise that there would be similarities for the devices of the devil are not new: “so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.” 2 Corinthians 2:11)(What an encouragement to read of the tremendous similarities between how the Lord used William Carey in India and how the Lord is using you, Ted & Sou in Cambodia. Even down to the number of converts!)
