God's Faithful Provision

The saying, "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades" comes to mind when considering our food supplies. Close doesn't cut it. Somehow, every month we have to figure out how to feed over 3,000 mouths (and that's a conservative figure as many of our church homes are helping other families in their communities to survive). Failure to have enough food supply doesn't cut it; the children and staff we have in our care need to eat. Even though all of our locations have supplemental food supplies with gardens and livestock, it's not enough to feed an entire church refuge center of children, considering that even local families of 5-10 people are having a difficult time providing. We have to get food supplies out to everyone who needs it.

With the economy taking such a hit since the February 20th incident which marked the beginning of the worst COVID-19 outbreak in Cambodia, and rural communities struggling to make an income, receiving deliveries of much needed food supplies has been essential to our survival. There is no way for us to pick and choose who gets some and who does not. We live by faith that God will provide in our need. We received a delivery of soup mix, which include nutritious dried food that can be distributed and stored for the next few weeks as our churches hardest hit by the economy get a boost in food supplies. Once again, our friends at Gleanings for the Hungry were there when we needed it. In addition, we received women's clothes and hand soap, both incredibly practical needs that will help those who are struggling to make ends meet.
