God's Promised Provision

FCOP was feeling the remorse of losing a donor when God gave us a wonderful sign of His faithfulness over the 'Training Center' in Chom Chao, Cambodia. On August 11th, Shanon Hladek was able to capture a picture of that promise. There have been many instances throughout the pandemic when FCOP has been the recipient of extreme generosity both within the local community and abroad. This month, FCOP received two shipping containers of rice from The Butte County Rice Growers in California, USA. In local communities, church members and village leaders have generously given items such as longan fruit, rice, flour, and soy sauce to help care of the church refuge centers. Interestingly, within four days of the loss of the previous donor, an unsolicited wire transfer sent FCOP the exact amount!

The Training Center in Phnom Penh is the home base where all food items and supplies are stored in five insulated and roofed, 40' storage containers. From there, these items are distributed to each of the 108 church refuge centers throughout the country. Due to various degrees of lockdown around Cambodia, FCOP staff distributed food items with the truck fleet.

Several loads were delivered to nearby provinces by Khemera and Makara in the newest (2019) 2.5 ton Isuzu truck while large, 20 ton loads of supplies were transported to remote provinces with our older (1995) Volvo by Pastors Som Art and FCOP's faithful drivers Chen and Sovonara. Items such as rice, cooking oil, soup mix, as well as soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste rationed according to regional need. Some homes received new mattresses, tables and bed coverings. The guys never stopped driving except for brief naps in the cab of the truck while one of them stood guard. FCOP’s thankful for partners all over the world who are committed to seeing Cambodia come to know Christ.
