Horns of a Dilemma

“Caught on the horns of a dilemma”, it is an expression that is painfully before us as we attempt move toward leading Cambodians to give to support their orphans. There is no question that we are all called to help orphans and widows. Church/Home care has been key in helping FCOP reach Cambodia for Christ. The dilemma is this: How do you get people who live in an impoverished condition to give to orphans and widows that live in better houses and eat better food than they? There is no question that the orphan children live better than the average church member. The children have better food, better housing, better education and better health care than the church members, thus appeals to give to their support challenges every faculty of reason. Our problem is that we have no choice. We are forced by government standards and are constantly being pushed by UNICEF enforced standards to do more for orphan care. If we don’t comply the government will close us down and the kids will have nothing but the street. And so, the gap seems to widen. What would you do? So, how do we survive? We live by hope and faith!
