Raise the Dead

Jesus told his disciples, "As you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons." Jesus certainly did a lot of that, and He made it clear that: "...he who believes in Me, the works I do he will do also..." The practice of that has been a major building block of the Cambodian church. "Raise the dead". October saw a 42 year old man who was mortally wounded in an accident, the desperate family took him to Bangkok, Thailand for help. The doctors told them his only chance was a very costly surgery. Unable to raise the money they took him home. He lingered on for a few days and, as he was gasping his las breath, the desperate family decided to try the local hospital. They took him and the doctors told the family that he was dying and nothing could be done. They took him home and he quit breathing. They were not believers in Christ, but one boy had heard about our Siem Reap Church and the miracles worked there. They brought him to the church and laid him out on a sheet a few days ago. Pastor Savang called in the orphans and staff and they started to pray, she could detect a faint heartbeat. After an hour of prayer the man opened his eyes and spoke to Pastor Savang. She led him is a quick prayer to receive Christ, and he closed his eyes and died. Those in the church tried to listen for a heartbeat and any breath, they could detect none. They began to pray again and continued for another hour when the man began, breathing, turning his head, and passing a large amount of blood. He continued to gain strength and is now eating and moving and gaining strength. Multiple members of the extended families on both sides (husband and wife) have now all received Christ. Thus grows the church.
