Rice Farm Squeeze

A vise, is a tool that applies pressure from both sides in order to squeeze or hold something. Have you ever felt like you are in one? I am so grateful for the help we received in being able to expand our rice farming order to sustain our work with orphans and widows in Cambodia! We now have 1000 acres of rice planted, but we are not going to be self-sufficient until it is fully developed. In the mean time, costs are going to be higher with the development of the land. This 2018 rice crop is looking good so far. PTL! But, we do not have water control yet, and that will take about three years to fully develop. During this development phase we need your help and prayers to keep our church homes supported. Please, don't stop now! This is crunch time. Ouch!
We got hit with a 20% reduction of the US Dollar verses the Thai Bhat since last year when our proposal was submitted. Since everything we buy for the rice farm is in Thai Bhat, the net effect was 20% less money. Then, there is a massive immigration of Chinese into Cambodia. They buy land, or a business, and prices are increasing. Since this time last year rice land has risen by 25%. The double vise jaws, of currency devaluation and property inflation, are really squeezing our development plans. Please pray for a good crop and for support for our church homes to be maintained!
