Rock Free Rice

Rock_Extractor_001

FCOP owns our own rice mill; we have for about 14 years. Our problem is that we have a rather basic, local commercial type, rice mill and it did not have stone extraction. If you're ever eaten rice and broken a tooth on a rock, you will not be very happy with that miller! Most Cambodian's put their rice in something like a giant bamboo pizza pan, shake it and throw it in the air, to sort out the rocks before they cook it. This year we finally got a rock extractor. Everybody! All together now, "It's about time!" It is about a $7,000 dollar investment and quite a complicated bit of machinery. Trust me, we are very happy to have it!
