The Frozen Chosen
You may not have seen my recent posts on Facebook but Sou and I just returned to Cambodia on Thursday, February 17th, after an emergency trip to see our daughter, Hannah, who was suffering from a condition known as “pre-eclampsia” upon the birth of our grandson, Oliver Theodore Olbrich-Rowley. Hannah is doing fine now; PTL! Granny Sou has a new love in her life!
We had a wonderful time with our family; we were able to see all four of our children and many of our grandchildren. During our two weeks and five days in North America, Sou and I managed to visit 5 churches and a couple of home groups from our base in Boulder, CO. It was all on short notice, so we scrambled to find churches, but managed to fill our time.
My first stop was in Yorkton, SK, Canada where the first night there the temperature dropped to -18 degrees F. The fellowship at Prairie Harvest with our old friend Pastor Des Klingspon was warm and sweet, but too short to warm my cold old bones! Prairie Harvest really blessed FCOPI. But after three cancelled flights, I got so cold that I never warmed up until I returned to 90 degree plus weather in Cambodia.
The second Sunday, Sou and I were really shown the goodness of God! Sou went to speak at Redeemer Temple, Arvada, CO. Redeemer is one of or longest sponsoring churches, under Pastor Andrew Thiessen, and anointing flowed both ways! I went to “The Rock” in Anaheim, California, with Pastor Jerry Dirmann, and was blown away with the generosity of that church!
Pastor Jerry offered Sou and I free tickets to Foursquare Connection. I told him I would gladly accept his generous offer on the condition that Sou and I be allowed to split up and visit as many donor churches as we could for an extra week on both sides of Connection. Pastor Jerry simply responded, "That sounds like a good investment!" So, Sou and I are splitting up every Sunday and heading to different churches for four Sundays in May and June. We will both be attending Connection, but the amazing part of God’s plan is that neither I nor Pastor Jerry knew of the ‘Transition Dream’ the Lord gave to me upon my return to Cambodia. Pastor Jerry's generosity is making the fulfillment of this mandate from God possible!
Then on Sunday, February 13th, I flew to Huston, Texas, where Pastor Tony Krishack of Victory Christian Center tried to out-bless the Rock of Anaheim. It was a wonderful, fruitful 19 days.
Shanon Hladek, FCOPI staff member, has been on her own very fruitful ministry to America since early January. She is due to return on March 5th and we will catch up on her adventures next month. We all miss her!
