White Horse
Pastor Jeff Johns knows how to sneak up on the "dirty devil rat” and stomp him when he is not looking! White Horse Christian Center, and Apostolic Church in Lafayette, Indiana, held their "Summer Gathering" in mid August. I was in the US to speak at three churches, who were all a blessing, but I went to the "White Horse" conference just to get refreshed. I never asked for a thing or said anything about our need in Cambodia. Pastor Jeff shared that the hardest thing he had to do, as a pastor, was to ask people to give. He asked for those who had the same problem to come to the platform for prayer. Boy, can I relate to that! I think I was the first one up. Pastor Jeff looked at me and started to tell my story. I didn't even know he really knew much about me, but for the past 16 years he'd been reading our monthly updates!
Pastor Jeff told a story of a poor pastor in Mexico that had huge problems. He went to the desert to fast and pray. While praying he noticed a bee going down a hole in the ground. He was hungry, so he put his hand in the hole. Not only did he find honey, they extracted over 250, 55 gallon oil drums of honey and they are getting more. Problem solved! Pastor Jeff had a bottle of that honey in his office. He announced that they would receive the summer missions offering for FCOP, and as they were blessing me, he instructed his elders to take me up to his office and place a bottle of that honey in my hands. Sonny Weimer, our FCOP International President, and friends, Sam and Stacy Wray stayed to receive the offering. Pastor Jeff prophesied that things were going to change for the better for FCOP. I came back to 700 acres of good rice and a revival! With the blessing of that offering, and a generous gift from a foundation in Los Angeles, the expense of all the irrigation is paid, praise the Lord!
