Why FCOP International?

Ted and Sou Olbrich founded Foursquare Children of Promise, a Cambodian N.G.O. under a Cambodian Board of Directors in 1999. When asked why he picked this name. Ted says, "When we started to receive orphans we had only two donors; The Foursquare Church and Children of Promise. I reasoned, we might as well include both in our name.  As we grew, we now have more than a thousand, churches, organizations and individuals that support us, rather than single out two donors we simply turned the name into an acronym, FCOP."   For 10 years FCOP directed funds to flow through one of their supporting organizations, Warm Blankets Orphan Care International.FCOP is a holistic ministry seeking to bring spiritual, social and economic health to the nations it serves through healthy, Christ centered churches. Warm Blankets is a Christian Orphan Care Institution."  Ted points out, "We had a lot of overlap, but our identity was lost. Warm Blankets was not FCOP and FCOP was not Warm Blankets.  Other partners were being overlooked and our mission was not being clearly projected." In June 2011 FCOP organized as a Limited Liability Corporation under Covenant Frontline International, Inc. as "FCOP International, LLC" a not for profit 501(c)3 organization.  This was done so that donors may contribute directly to FCOP and receive a tax deduction in the USA.
