Krakor

The Krakor home was constructed in February of 2006. The Krakor home is located in the Pursat Province in the Western region of Cambodia.

The Church Orphan Home is set on the small town of Kra Kor surrounded by wooden village houses built on stilts to protect them from flood waters during the rainy season. Krakor is an hour drive from the provincial capital of the Pursat Province. Cambodians in this area primarily make a living by digging wells, working for the taxis at the main station, and a small percentage of the people are rice farmers.

Almost 40 percent of the people in this area are searching for employment and 46.4 percent of the families have moved to different areas, due to drought and flood which make it impossible to produce a good agriculture crop. Most of the kids in the Kra Kor home are orphans because their parents died of Malaria or HIV/AIDS.

Many of children have lost one or both parents due to these diseases. Pastor Nov Den came to know the Lord 3 years ago, through a FCOP church pastor. He has a beautiful voice when he sings praises to God. He and his new wife love the children very much. Every morning, the children from the home begin their day with a morning devotional. After a time of Bible study, worship and prayer, they eat breakfast. Some go to school in the morning, and others attend school after lunch. When the children are not in school, they might help with house chores, take a nap, or play. The children enjoy playing soccer, Cambodian games, and learning traditional dances. In the evening, the children participate in a time of devotionals. They then review their lessons before going to sleep.
