Srayov Tbong
Srayov Tbong is located in the Kompong Thom Province, the largest province in Cambodia in terms of area.
Most of the people in that area make their living off of farming or fishing. Rice production is an important part of the economy, along with harvesting fish from the great lake and small rivers that run through the province. Diseases like malaria, TB, and the generally poor health care, are what typically cause premature parental death in Kompong Thom, and orphan so many children. With the fighting just ending in the province in 1998, a lot of children are orphaned due to war. In addition, AIDS deaths are the fastest growing contributor to the orphan population. There are seven Foursquare Children of Promise Orphan Homes operating in the Kompong Thom province.
Every morning, the children of the Srayov Tbong orphan home begin their day with a morning devotional. After the time of bible study, worship, and prayer, they eat breakfast. Some go to school in the morning, and others attend school after lunch. When the children are not in school, they might help with house chores, take a nap, or play. The children enjoy playing soccer, Cambodian games, and learning traditional dances. Everyday, the children study English at a class held in the home. After studying English, the kids participate in the evening devotional. They review their lessons before going to sleep.
