Key to Sustainability

The Rice farm is the key factor in our long term sustainability. It was just one year ago that we reached our matching grant of $750,000 to begin this three years-development project. Many people think that this goal was a completion of our provision but it was only the beginning. By the time we purchased our land the rains had started so development just began this year. We have years of work to do and land prices have tripled since our matching grant was offered. Roads, canals, dikes, leveling, clearing, machine acquisition, etc. are all ongoing activities along with the obvious variety selection, fertility and pest management. Marketing is our next big hurdle. Please keep us in your prayers. We need another year of good weather!
