Busy Day
It was one of those days where you go into it in the dark at 4:30AM and hope you come out, in tact, in the dark, at 10:00PM. I love teams, but this was the perfect storm! It was the 26th of February, We were called at 6:00am, one of our top Pastors from the Vietnam border, with three of his children, was hit in an intersection. All of them were all in Intensive care from this motorcycle accident, and their outlook was not good. Our worship leader for our main church and the outreach that day came down with acute appendicitis. PayPal, one of my chief funding arms, was shut down because we attempted to add a note on our FCOP "giving page" from Cambodia and they thought we were scammers(up to 48 hours to fix it). I had two days, and at least $60,000, to go in my matching grant fund raising. We had a film crew here to do a story on Sou, with interviews and multiple shoots. Our church on Tumnup Island was expecting a teaching seminar to encourage their 200 or so leaders (They were to discouraged to be put off). The "Young Lions" and "Young Fishermen" decided they wanted to go and do an outreach there as well. A wonderful family was here to see our work (the dad is in senior management with one of the top corporations in the world and had put in a "pitch" for us). The author of our book has wanted to go to Tumnup and see El Sim's grave and where she was murdered, so I took him with me. Our boss, and an FCOP Board member, were here, (We needed to talk transition) and another woman who heads up a small not-for-profit was here to visit some of our homes. Our best Van had just blown the transmission the night before, and I make a wrong turn coming back to the ferry from the Island and delayed my group for two hours. We had to be back in Phnom Penh to finish up some daylight filming. I'm driving like crazy, my passengers are getting nauseous. What a day! Some how we made it, and, what's more amazing? All seemed pleased, and everyone survived. There is a God!
