Fanning The Flames
When El Sim, our Apostolic leader from Tumnup Island, was murdered last June, it threw the 200 churches and home groups there into a tailspin. Other groups descended like vultures on a fresh carcass. They built buildings and invested in personnel, but they forgot about the Holy Spirit (Big Mistake!). Several nice buildings are sitting constructed, but now largely unused. A lot of people give lip service to the Holy Spirit, but few really know how to walk in His power. We attempt both. It makes foreign missionaries nervous, but the results are worth it! We went to the island in February and fanned a bunch of cold coals into flame again. Fire comes back as we go and teach the catechism (which simply means a 'concise teaching of the faith') through our curriculum and workbook called "Rooted and Fruitful". Sou also was in Along Veng last month. Busy!
