Catch and Release

No, we are not talking about illegal immigrants, but Cambodian women’s volleyball. This past weekend, the staff ladies at Chom Chao Refuge Center planned a surprise birthday lunch for Shanon Hladek, who serves as a vital part of the FCOP team. It was a wonderful, fun filled, time of fellowship for these women who have continued to work so hard throughout the pandemic. They concluded the party with a ‘ladies only’ volleyball game. It became very clear that they were not playing by international volleyball rules. Instead it was a goal of catching the ball then running to throw it back over the net. Each of the ladies, from 24 to 74 years old, enjoyed this special time. For Shanon, she says that it was one of the best birthdays she’s ever had. The love and acceptance of the women and kids she works with is a daily reminder of God’s love. (Watch Video)
