Fighting Dengue

We suspect that FCOP has worn General Supervisor, Som Art, out. After several 24 hour days in the small cab of the Volvo truck and the nonstop ringing of his cellphone, he came back to Phnom Penh exhausted. Sometimes it seems as though we are under constant attack. As I write this, Som Art and his wife Sokna are fighting Dengue Fever. This disease (commonly known as ‘breakbone fever’) is a mosquito-borne illness that is fairly common in Cambodia's tropical climate. Symptoms of the disease result in intense muscle, joint, and bone pain. FCOP is using Ivermectin as a part of the treatment protocol as there have been studies that show it speeds recovery time. It can take several weeks or even months to regain full strength but we are believing God’s healing hand is already upon them. Dr. Lina and our staff at the FCOP Training Center are working hard to treat the various symptoms and providing the best medical care possible. We would appreciate your prayers for their quick recovery.
