Christmas Throughout Cambodia
The birth of Christ, or entrance of God into the human realm as one of us, is one of the most significant events in all of history. Without that there would have been no Easter and without Easter there would have been no salvation. Christmas is a very big deal for the churches in Cambodia. Not only is it a celebration of the birth of our Savior, but it is also one of our greatest times of evangelism. In Phnom Penh, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were not able to hold our normal outdoor Christmas service where we have seen thousands of people attend and hear about Jesus. Instead we adapted our Christmas outreach service and held it online. Following the service, we gave away food bags to our church members and neighbors. On Christmas Day, our kids at Chom Chao demonstrated the gift of life and the love of God as they delivered homemade cookies to all of our neighbors and shared the love of Jesus with them. The kids also invited all of the children in the neighborhood to come and play games on Christmas morning. Each child was given a small Christmas present and a Bible.
