"Shut Up"!

"Why don't you just shut up about politics and be a missionary"? My critic was not very happy and from time to time I've had similar comments. Honestly, those things used to bother me, but now they seem to blow right by me. What caused my change of heart? I realized that FCOP has always been engaged in a Gospel that is focused on the whole person: spiritual, social, and economic. But, then I noticed that Jesus was political.

I know that may shock you, because many Christians have been taught to stick to the 'Sermon on the Mount' and feel all believers should just join hands and skip down the tarmac singing "Kumbaya". It is easy to forget that Jesus' main ministry was "to destroy the works of the devil". A real shock for many Christians is that Jesus did confront political evil. When the Pharisees told Him that Herod wanted to kill Him, He responded, "Go, tell that fox, that today I cast out demons and heal the sick…" (Luke 13:32). What many people don't realize is that the word translated "fox" at the time of Christ, was a profane term, kind of like “s.o.b.” in today's crude terms. Remember, Herod is the guy who killed John the Baptist because John pointed out his sexually immoral conduct. Herod treated Jesus with contempt and mocked Him before the crucifixion (Luke 23:11). Later, Herod killed James the Apostle. He tried to kill Peter but wound up killing the prison guards for allowing him to escape.

So, how should we react to people that promote murder of infants from conception to, and even after, birth? Pray for them to repent and come to Christ? Absolutely! But, what about the policy? How should we handle a national policy that promotes this and allows anyone to marry someone of the same sex, believes it is proper to sexually alter a child with surgery, sells murdered people's body parts for profit, and wants to insist that the church participate in some of these events through employee health plans, weddings, etc.?

Communist China is selling body parts of executed prisoners (many from Uighur Muslims) for big money. They are a Godless, anti-Christ, anti-God government. Abortion and sex selection is their standard practice. They are an "evil empire." If they converge with an anti-God, anti-traditional-marriage, gender selection through surgery, political party in America, I believe we will move into an end-times and one-world government society from which the world will never recover. If they can be stopped, I, along with FCOP, believe Christendom will see the greatest revival in world history. That's why we are politically engaged. That's why I spend hours each day in prayer. I believe the Godless, globalist agenda will fail and Trump will serve a second consecutive term.
