Climate and Kids

Combine dozens of kids with the damaging effects of acid rain and the result is the need for constant maintenance at each of our 106 Refuge Centers.  Acid rain eats through 3/8-inch steel in ten years, causing damage to the homes including roofs, balconies, and stairs.  At Prek Touch Refuge Center, the home was in desperate need of a cafeteria that would provide a clean eating space for the kids. Thanks to the generosity of Real Life Church in Vancouver, WA, USA our local staff were able to begin construction on this project, now about 90% complete. Thank you Real Life Church! At Phsar Chas, the railing on the staircase leading up to where the kids sleep was beginning to rust through. This obviously is a safety hazard and something that needed to be addressed right away.  FCOP pastors and staff are hard at work as we speak and the 16 year-old railing looks better than ever.
