Fake News!

Fake News! I have never gotten good press from a news organization but I was approached by PBS on multiple occasions for an interview. Their appeal was, "We want to show your side of the story to counter the current push to shut down all orphan homes by 2023." I guess I knew it would be risky but the director told me he was a Christian graduate of a Catholic seminary and he would give us a fair representation. I stupidly agreed. They filmed me for nearly an hour, cherry picked a response to a clarification on the subject of 'Proselytization". They ignored the concept of karma and the need to help kids that have parents who have abused them, abandoned them, or are in jail; or working in the sex trades. We do not recruit children! The vast majority are referred to us through government agencies. They actually shared my interview with the guy promoting the shutdown of orphan homes and allowed him to attack me. Totally unethical, but nothing to be done. They claim that foster care is 15 times cheaper which is not only a big lie but a disaster here in Cambodia where, the last time I checked, there were only 18 registered social workers in the entire country. It was shown on Sunday, Oct 27th and my only blessing seems to be the good news that very few people watch PBS. Let me know what you think.
