Fish Harvest

Something smells fishy! Harvest time! Children's Hunger Fund has given FCOP a grant to improve the sustainable diets of our homes with additional fruit, vegetable, livestock and fish production. Fish is still the most prevalent form of protein at our church homes. We have nearly 50 fish ponds and when the dry season hits, water levels fall, and the fish need to to harvested and stored through a pickling fermentation that produces "prahoak". It's an acquired taste, but goes well with a plate vegetables and nutritious rice.
