Clean Water

Water shortages are a common problem in April. The rains have not yet started and the dry season is at its peak with heat and dust. Where we find water it is often stagnant and polluted. Through the years we have learned how to purify water through a number of means. One of the most practical is through a specialized filter designed in Switzerland for the purification of blood supplies. These are very expensive, but Lukas and Jenny Graff, of Swiss Warm Blankets were able to have nearly 100 of them donated. When combined with normal sand and charcoal filters for clarification and odor correction, we receive a water free of bacterial solution. We have a team in the field with two of our staff installing these filters in multiple homes. Makara and Chenta, have been going night and day to get as many home supplied with good drinking water as possible!
