Into the Harvest Field

The first generation of pastors and leaders Mak Sou and I raised have now become senior pastors and key leaders within FCOP. Their disciples (the 'Young Lions') are now teaching and making their own disciples amongst the next generation, called the 'Young Fishermen'. This past month, our Young Lions pastors and our Young Fishermen resumed traveling to do ministry in rural areas. The Young Fishermen assisted in leading small group discussions about the power of the Holy Spirit, prayed with and for their peers, and assisted our FCOP pastors in baptizing new believers and seeing them filled with the Holy Spirit. 1 Timothy 4:12 states, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because of you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” From the moment children come into FCOP’s care, they are immersed in discipleship. They are the future of their nation.

Shanon Hladek, one of our FCOP staff members, served alongside our Young Lions and Young Fishermen at the recent conference and the Lord impressed her with the transformation that is taking place through the work of our Cambodian pastors. Here is what she had to say: “It was amazing to watch FCOP pastors and leaders lay hands on our Young Fisherman, anoint, and release them to minister to others. There was a direct connection between the young people and the Power of God used to break down strongholds of spiritual resistance. As I watch these leaders share the Gospel, there is a passion within them that can only come from a life transformed by the Holy Spirit. God spoke to my heart that regardless of whatever hardships come our way, and no matter how our ministry strategies might have to change in the future, I will humbly follow and serve under these anointed men and women to reach the nation of Cambodia for Christ in both word and deed.”
