Pastor's Sermon
Pastor Som Art's Sunday message was a masterpiece of Cambodian outreach. It was the beginning of the Pchum Ben holiday, and if there is one thing all Cambodians agree upon it is the dark side of the spiritual world. They may not have a name for it, but it is evil, and they want out! In Revelation 20 the Bible describes an Angel grasping the, "dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan", and binding him. Pastor told a story about a crocodile, lying along a dry, dusty road; his skin parched and cracked by the sun. A man came along and the crocodile pleaded with him, “If you’ll take me to water, I will love you and serve you all of your life!” The man took the crocodile to a cool, clear pool. The crocodile was very happy and he quickly recovered from his depleted state. “I’m very hungry said the crocodile! I’m going to eat you!” The man protested, “You said you’d love me and serve me all of my life!” “Yes”, said the crocodile, “I love the way you taste, I'm serving you for my dinner, and your life is over!” Chomp! Pastor Som Art went on to show how the devil deceives, but only Jesus can save. Twenty people came forward. It was a good day!
