Revival in Battambang

In Battambang province, we are seeing a spark of revival. Pastor Chayya was once one of our orphans and has opened a small shop at the local market. He purposefully employs widows and those that are separated from their families. This shop has created the opportunity to witness to those within his community. The shop has become home for a thriving church with a weekly attendance of over 35 adults. They hold services every Wednesday and Saturday with their employees and Sunday services for the community. Many of the families that attend his gathering are very poor and lack a means of transportation to attend services. In wanting to help meet this need, Pastor Chayya has begun traveling to pick up church members at their homes so that they can attend. Pastor Chayya is amazed at the blessings that he’s seen over his family and the church. He writes, “I just came to work but God is using me to help strengthen the church here. I thank God for everything because without Him, I could do nothing.” One of their greatest needs is for a children’s ministry program. As parents shop at various stores throughout the market, their children are interested in what is happening during the church service. Our staff at the National Training Center are currently in the process of putting together a Sunday School supply kit to help meet this need. Please pray for the continued building up of the church and for ongoing unity as this congregation grows and reaches more people with the love of Christ.
