"Unsustainable!" Has been the cry of FCOP's critics for nearly 20 years. There are times when it seems as though they are right. The math doesn't work. Our small rural churches cannot bear the financial burden of sustaining the growth of their churches and that of a couple of dozen orphans and four or five widows as well. Every year costs of education, medical treatment and general support for our 107 church/homes seem to rise faster than our income. The reality is that God has to come through with our provision or it wouldn't work. He does care for orphans and widows. Your giving is crucial, but we realize that giving patterns are shifting and churches like to fund specific projects. We need your help for a at least a few more years while we develop our rice farm to be come a sustaining force in Cambodian orphan care. Earlier this year we raised $1,500,000 to expand the farm and secure it against flood and drought to bring it up to a three-crop-per-year potential. We've spent the money, doubled the size and purchased a lot of equipment. Now comes the hard work of building dikes, reservoirs and canals. We will get there, but please don't quit on us now!
