Two Teams
Sam Tolle, our 'Teams Leader' has been working non stop since he returned from his home leave. Two teams overlapped to bring new life for two homes! This was the 6th year that the Booshway Men’s Group from Lafayette, CO has sent a team to Cambodia on a short term missions trip. However, the big difference this year is that they opened up the group to allow nearly anyone to join them from the community. They had 14 people come from teenagers to senior citizens, women and men and it was amazing. Over the years we’ve become pretty good fence builders and so we headed up to the Ou Yadau home in Rattanikiri Provice near the Vietnam border in the far NE corner of Cambodia to partner with FCOPI staff building a fence, wall and installing a gate. The week we went was Thanksgiving in the US and it just so happened to be the water festival holiday all over Cambodia. So, people were travelling all about. To our surprise nine different tribal pastors for FCOPI in the surrounding area came to visit with us and help us out all week. Most of them speak their own tribal tongue to Laotian – so, it was an interesting experience communicating. On Thursday we celebrated with the kids by roasting three pigs and having a feast. Another team that is still on the ground in Cambodia is from The Father's House in Vacaville, California, USA. They are building fences to protect the kids, livestock and gardens, replacing rotted ceilings and walls and refurbishing a 16 year old home. They have blessed the kids of Steung Treng and we will have the complete story next month.
