We Swapped "Steves"

Steve Overman has served on the FCOPI Board of Directors since we formed in 2011. He recently retired from serving as the Senior Pastor of Eugene Foursquare Church in Oregon and felt it would be helpful for FCOPI if he stepped down as a director and made way for a more active member. Steve helped us greatly when we published our FCOP Basic Beliefs Catechism, Rooted and Fruitful. His retirement has left us with only six board members so I sent the following letter to our Board of Directors:

"I would like to suggest that we look outside of Foursquare, possibly outside of the USA, and look for someone who is both a friend of FCOPI and also connected to the world of finance. One person comes to mind, Steve Nutland, Steve, a British citizen, has been an international banker in Hong Kong for the past 20 years, and has served as an international banker for 35 years. The Nutland family has fully sponsored a home for at least 16 years and his entire family is very active in supporting FCOP with teams, special projects, etc. They have visited Cambodia at least 20 times. Steve recently took early retirement from his bank position due to conditions in Hong Kong and his family have moved back to U.K. He is well connected in the financial world and would be a great asset to any board. I have not discussed this with him and do not know if he would consent to serve but if I get board approval I will invite him to join. Please respond with a "Yes" or "No" vote."

We received an unanimously positive response and Steve has agreed to serve. The FCOPI Board is the governing body for the 501(c)-3 organization in the USA and they have a huge role in keeping us alive in Cambodia. They serve the FCOP Board which is the governing body of the Cambodian Church and Church Refuge Centers. We welcome Steve Nutland and his very engaged family in an official capacity on the board and say a huge "Thank You" to Steve Overman for his faithful service. In short, we swapped "Steves".
