Work Together
Learn something! Paul Mok didn't know about raising pigs. I taught him what I knew and he grew to be one of the larger hog farmers in Cambodia. I taught him what I knew about rice and he runs one of the largest rice farms in Cambodia. He and I actually argue about seeding rates, fertilization programs and herbicides. He once tried doubling the seeding rate on a field. I told him I didn't think we had the nutrition or the sunlight to support such a population. That crop failed. He tried to develop a tillage machine by using a combine chassis. I told him he was crazy, but it turns out the machine works like a dream. We learn from each other. Neither of us has pride vested in our opinions but want what is going to produce the best outcome. We respect each other. Paul raises commercial herds of cattle, water buffalo and goats. The point is, he is constantly learning. He believes he can accomplish anything he puts his mind too and I fully believe him.
