For many years FCOP has relied on visiting foreign teams to come help rebuild our deteriorating Church/Homes. Forty kids, acid rain, aging concrete and jungle growth can soon turn the best homes into a disaster. In order to grow dry season rice, we have to first solve the irrigation issue, control weeds, insects and diseases, then, our number one problem is rats. Right now we are finishing up harvest of our last planting. It is a good crop which was planted just after the floods in early October. The combines are racing the rats!  Paul Mok, our rice farm manager, is a master chef. He will spend hours concocting a special, delicious rat feast. In mid January we unloaded our last container of Manna Pack. It is a nutritious, rice based meal with protein, vitamins and minerals added. The freight costs and shipping difficulties are killing us. With regard to supply chain issues, it now costs us nearly $10,000US to receive a 20 ton load of Manna Pack from the US interior to our Training Center in Phnom Penh. Domestic rice price are under the government thumb and our own raw rice is selling at our farm for only about $225 per ton. With a 62% milling percentage and a $50/ton milling cost, that brings our locally milled rice …

In spite of the global pandemic, we continue to see the Church grow and the good news of Jesus shared in some of the most unreached areas of the nation. Once again, we’ve seen God’s miraculous provision to meet the urgent physical needs of orphans and widows. Because of a chronic food shortage throughout SE Asia, FCOP was greatly feeling the effects as we were down to using our emergency reserves of rice. Right on time, we received a shipping container from Feed My Starving Children filled with 20 tons of Manna Pack nutritious rice meals.
