Church Improvements

As Cambodia continues to deal with the effects of it’s first major outbreak of COVID-19, dubbed the “February 20th Incident”, churches (along with many other institutions) are prohibited from meeting. So, as activities are significantly restricted, some of our staff with extra time took it upon themselves to make improvements at our Phnom Penh church refuge center. When FCOP purchased the land nearly 22 years ago for our church refuge center in the capital of Cambodia, we did it in an area where the prices were dirt cheap and we could get the size of land we had a vision for. This meant we purchased in the middle of rice fields.  We had to run our own water and power lines and build our own road. Twenty years ago, what used to be a satellite farming village outside of Phnom Penh, is now as much a part of the capital city as it possibly can be.  With the massive growth in population around our church, security has become an issue. Our guys are hard at work improving the perimeter wall to deter thieves looking for “five finger discounts” on anything that is not bolted to the ground. The work is especially hard as temperatures start to become the hottest they will for the year.
