It is amazing how fast the culture of world, empowered by the ‘ruler of this world’ (John 14:30), can drain your spiritual vitality if you let your guard down. Mak Sou had gone to rededicate a church that was once alive but had died, like Sardis in Revelation 3:1. The building was only 21 years old, the pastor had once been a fruitful evangelist but had walked away from the Lord. There had not been church services in the building for the past three years. This was the church that pastor Savang from Siem Reap came to cleanse when she was nearly killed with a collapsed lung and stroke like symptoms.
About 150 area pastors came to the service. At about 9:00 in the morning, I was at the FCOP rice farm 40 kilometers away doing some soil analysis when Mak Sou called me and said, “Can you come help me? This is a tough one!” I replied, “I’ll look like a farmer, but I’ll be there by 10:30am.” It was a slow drive but I prayed in the Spirit all the way there. Mak Sou had done a great job of setting up the anointing, as she was just coming there after leading a women’s revival at Pastor Savang’s Church in Siem Reap. Several of those women came with her.
I took the platform and began speaking: “If you want to pastor in an FCOP Church in Cambodia, you need to have a vibrant relationship with the Holy Spirit, which includes a lot of praying in tongues. Demons flee and people get healed. This past month, we know of two blind people that were healed! If you are too fearful or prideful to risk looking foolish by risking moving in this dimension of God that the world deems “foolish”, do FCOP and yourself a favor and go pastor somewhere else. Or, better yet, humble yourself enough to risk being filled with God’s power and receive a language that the world will always demean. Be renewed in the Holy Spirit! How do you do that? Ask God, then receive by faith, and act. God won’t give you a demon. Ask, believing that you will receive, put some air over your vocal cords and start to utter something that your mind will tell you sounds stupid but your spirit will confirm is really from God. You will see that, as your charged up spirit educates your mind, you really can do what Jesus did!” Over 100 people came forward for prayer and the power of God fell on the building. There was repentance and rededication to the power of the Holy Spirit.
There was a quick return on the investment. We received a call yesterday, March 30th, that Savang carried that message to Battambang, where an entire large Chinese clan turned to the Lord when she taught what she had learned. Family shrines were burned and the entire family visited their ancestral burial ground and proclaimed their new faith over the graves of their forefathers and other revivals have broken out across various parts of the country.
