Primary Focus

The Kingdom of God is more than just leading people to faith in Christ (although that is something that happens daily around Cambodia) and is the primary focus of FCOP. We need to remember that there are essential works that go along with that. Caring for the poor, the orphans, and widows, teaching the doctrines of Christ, water baptism, prayer, ministering healing to the sick, and deliverance to the captives are essential parts of the faith in addition to weddings and funerals. “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil…” (1 John 3:8b). It is a standard practice for every FCOP church to always give an invitation to receive Christ in every service however, the devil doesn’t just roll over, when Christ enters the heart. In the Tek Hoat Church/Home, a woman had received Christ years ago, yet whenever the Holy Spirit begins to move, she manifests with a demonic demonstration: hissing like a snake and cursing our Jesus. The pastor has been able to bind the manifestations but could not expel the demonic entity. He requested help from other pastors and they also were unsuccessful until our District Supervisor, Rattana, came in with a team and set her free. The work of the ministry is multifaceted and continues unceasing.
