Ted Dreamed and Heard God’s Voice!

On February 22, 2022 in the early hours of the morning, God gave me a very vivid dream. At the end of the dream something happened that I have never experienced in my 75 years of life on this earth. God woke me with an audible command. For the fist time in my life, I physically heard the audible voice of God. God said, “Get up and go call Mr. Sonny and tell him your dream!” That was at about 4:00am. Sou and I had only been back in Cambodia for 5 days from a 19 day trip to the …

Back To The Basics

A pastor’s job description for FCOP is quite simple. Pastors need to take what God is saying and deliver it to the people so that they can understand. It sounds simple but it is not that easy. You must listen to the Spirit of God; and it is an office you must be called to by God, not a vocation you choose just to earn a living. Just like the children of Israel who crossed the Red Sea, only two of them made it to the Promised Land. Many of our first generation leaders who saw the miraculous power of …

Merciless Merchants

Farmers in Cambodia have proven to be expendable. It seems the government’s focus is to keep the masses in the cities happy with cheap rice and allow the merchants to extort as much taxable gain as possible from the farmers. The results may prove to be catastrophic!  Farmers are getting paid less for rice this year than last, yet fertilizer prices and other input prices have been allowed to triple! Faith is the only reason to plant a crop. Even with ideal yields, at current prices, farmers are planting into a guaranteed loss! So, why do it? We know we …

The Blessing of the COVID Crisis

When the devil gives you lemons, ask the Holy Spirit for a lemonade recipe! Churches are still officially on lock-down. The result was predicted to be disastrous. But, the reality has been the scattering of the faithful who open new meetings in their homes and are broadcasting their messages via social media from multiple churches each Sunday and they are reaching thousands of people. Although FCOP has no way to officially tabulate the results, we are confident, that during this time of great fear and stress, that the Church has been growing. Every week district leaders are visiting new locations …

No Teams? Improvise

For many years FCOP has relied on visiting foreign teams to come help rebuild our deteriorating Church/Homes. Forty kids, acid rain, aging concrete and jungle growth can soon turn the best homes into a disaster. Sam Tolle has learned that foreign churches can sponsor virtual teams, through which they fund Cambodian workers. The sponsoring churches then connect with the Cambodian churches via the internet to impact the kids lives with testimonies (which we can interpret), develop relationships, and let these kids that have been orphaned or abandoned realize that someone half a world away loves them and knows they are …

The Frozen Chosen

You may not have seen my recent posts on Facebook but Sou and I just returned to Cambodia on Thursday, February 17th, after an emergency trip to see our daughter, Hannah, who was suffering from a condition known as “pre-eclampsia” upon the birth of our grandson, Oliver Theodore Olbrich-Rowley. Hannah is doing fine now; PTL! Granny Sou has a new love in her life! We had a wonderful time with our family; we were able to see all four of our children and many of our grandchildren. During our two weeks and five days in North America, Sou and I …

Joy

Our daughter Hannah gave birth to our new grandson, Oliver Theodore Olbrich Rowley, on January 15th. Ollie is doing great, but Hannah has been in and out of the hospital with a condition known as preeclampsia, which affects her kidneys and blood pressure. Her husband’s mother is suffering from knee replacement complications, our daughter Chanta has Covid and our son Emil’s wife is still recovering from a double mastectomy. So, Hannah needs her Mom. We are leaving for the US tomorrow for a 16 day trip. Mattai (a young man with Down Syndrome that has been with us for 22 …

FCOP’s 112th Church Building

With thousands of home churches and cell groups throughout the nation, FCOP was excited to officially dedicate its 112th church building in Cambodia. This church is the first house of worship in the entire village; there isn’t even a Buddhist temple. This church congregation began as a Bible study for employees of a small shop at a local market managed by Chaya, one of the orphans FCOP had raised. Over several months, the church plant that was meeting in the shop became too large to meet there any longer averaging almost 100 people each Sunday. Pastor Chaya has been traveling …

Healed of Leukemia

At the Siem Reap church dedication there was a young man who was suffering from leukemia causing severe jaundice and requiring frequent blood transfusions. He was so weak that he struggled to perform daily tasks. When he came forward for prayer, he extended his hands which were yellow and showed no sign of blood circulation to the extremities. Mak Sou even pinched him several times to see if she could discern circulation and there was no change in color. After being prayed for, his hands and face went from yellow to pink and circulation was restored. He even began to …

Released from Demonic Possession

We are seeing signs, wonders, and miracles taking place throughout Cambodia. Our pastors encountered an entire family that had been under a demonic possession resulting in no one in the family living past the age of 30. The family was led by a demoniac who would hear voices telling him to drink his own urine. The demons taunted him day and night without relenting. Mak Sou picked this up in the Spirit, prayed with the man, baptized him in water, and cast the demon out. After prayer and baptism, the man said the voices were gone. The countenance on the …

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 2021 was a year of great challenge yet God remained faithful. In spite of the global pandemic, we continue to see the Church grow and the good news of Jesus shared in some of the most unreached areas of the nation. We are excited for 2022 as we are believing it will be a year of miracles, continued growth and provision.  As we reflect on our 23 years in Cambodia, we are amazed at all that has been accomplished by building the church through helping orphans and widows. We hope you …

Control Water, Control Life

When I was growing up on our family dairy farm in Illinois and we’d lose a crop, I remember my dad saying, “Tis enough to make a grown man cry!” FCOP raised the best crop of rice we’ve ever had. We actually started to harvest and it was running about 10 tons per hectare. The rains had slowed and it looked like we were going to reap a blessing. Sadly, the Chinese funded dams on the Thai border were opened and we were flooded with a wall of water that forced the water eight inches over the top of our …
