Solution to Land Grabbing

The Prime Minister wants Cambodia to become a major exporter of rice. The problem is, that in order to do this the government is giving large land concessions to foreign investors, and this is done by grabbing up large tracts of land from small farmers who cannot afford the “Title Deeds”. Most small farmers cannot pay this fee as it costs about $700 to register half a hectare (a little more than an acre). Land grabbing is also fuel for industrial development, with grants attracting the investors who make government facilitators rich, and antagonize the vast majority of poor Cambodians. …

Swiss Slog It Out

A team of Swiss church members demonstrated servant leadership by rebuilding a church home that had been devastated by incessant rain and recent fighting on the Thai border. It was not an easy task, Odarmeanchy is a far cry from the precise order and sanitation standards of Switzerland. Despite rain and sloggingly slow progress due to the hard conditions, they prevailed and left the church with a new fence and new hope. Thanks! You guys are heroes!

Got M.O.U.’s?

PTL! We have our MOU’s! Simply stated we are legal to operate all our church orphan homes under Cambodian government sanction for the next three years. An Tony

I realize that a growing number of people in the body of Christ are leaving traditional churches for more intimate gatherings. I can understand that, but being part of a larger body is valuable. We try to maintain that desire for intimacy with both God and man, but it’s good to be part of a larger body overseen by a seasoned pastor. At our Cham Chao Church, Sunday …

Church to the Rescue

Jesus cares for the poor. There were 30,000 people forced from their homes, including those from four of our church homes, in the recent fighting along the border with Thailand. They needed some quick help, and since we have a rice mill,  storage, and vehicles we sent two, five ton truckloads of supplies to help these hurting, hungry people.  Fortunately, the residents of our church homes, and the surrounding communities have now returned home. Pray for peace!
