Christmas Around Cambodia

Christmas celebrations actually began in late November and will continue throughout January. It’s the major holiday for the Cambodian Church and since December 25th is not an official recognized holiday, the season gets stretched, especially since ‘Orthodox Christmas’ isn’t celebrated until January 7th. FCOP church leaders like to attend their neighboring congregations services, therefore, they match their celebration dates so they don’t overlap. In this case, pictures are better than words!

It Was A Colorful Christmas!

Eight thousand gallons of paint delivered in mid November have provided for fresh colors on many of our church homes with enough to refurbish all of them over the next few months! Bob and Christal Hollandsworth and our Training Center Staff have been the “Master Mixers’ with nearly 500-5 gallon pails sent to the provinces. The colors gray, pink, brown, green and yellow are not the most exciting but, gray seems to be a hit. Trimmed with a bit of another contrasting color, these churches look quite good.

Visit from our Supervisor

FCOP was very happy to welcome Jerry Stott and Paul Vernon (our Foursquare Church supervisors for this region) for a short visit in December. We were able to meet as a Cambodian board with them, show them around our Training Center and offices, and share our desires for the future with them. It was very encouraging to see their active support for the FCOP vision for this nation. Paul had great visits with Shanon Hladek and Bob and Christal Hollandsworth. Jerry and Pa Thom (me) got to share extensively on the topic of deliverance and demonic oppression. This is a …

Close Call!

Paul wrote, “because for the work of Christ he came close to death…” (Philippians 2:30). The day before Christmas was not a quiet one for Pow Moi; a 16 year old tribal orphan boy from Olai-Lai. This is the site of a recent revival. This location is a far northern Church/Home in the FCOP system; up in the very peak of the country where Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia are joined. Pow Moi was clearing brush the day before (getting ready for a big Christmas celebration) when the machine he was using kicked back and cut through the tibia, tendon, and …

Beautiful New facility!

On December 31st, Pa and Mak will be in Siem Reap dedicating a beautiful new 500 seat auditorium for the Siem Reap Church. Having outgrown the old building, (even after two extensions) the new auditorium is next door to the old building and will free the old auditorium up for youth activities. The new building is completely paid for with contributions from Cambodia!

Happy New Year!

Although we are happy to have made it through 2022, we have ended up on a joyful note with school uniforms and a new facility being dedicated in Siem Reap. The fact is inflation has really put a strain on the sustainability of feeding 3,000 mouths three times per day and all that goes with it. If you have some year end giving in your budget, FCOP would sure be a great place for it.

What we do Best!

Of all the things I love to write about, nothing gives me more pleasure than to report on the dozens of new Church Home groups started each month. I know there are many we are missing and I apologize to those pastors! FCOP simply doesn’t have enough people and good enough cameras to capture all the great work they are doing in establishing the Kingdom of God in Cambodia by destroying the works of the Devil. We can report hundreds of salvations, healings, deliverances, baptisms in water and in the Holy Spirit. Honestly, we can’t even keep count of them all. Remember your sacrifice is not unnoticed in heaven! May God Bless You …

Water & Diesel

Seven large diesel pumps were running night and day, consuming $1,000USD of fuel every day. We must build the reservoir, but until we do, we are dependent upon the rivers. Unfortunately, the Chinese dams are blocking water flow. What started as a wet spring turned into a dry summer and our rice was thirsty. We built three more large 16″ pumps. Rains around Cambodia were very spotty this year, with some localities experiencing flooding and others drought. Thanks to the generosity of so many, we were able to feed our rice! We have the fertilizer.

The Blessings of the COVID- Crisis

When the devil gives you lemons, ask the Holy Spirit for a lemonade recipe! Churches are still officially on lock-down. The result was predicted to be disastrous. But, the reality has been the scattering of the faithful who open new meetings in their homes and are broadcasting their messages via social media from multiple churches each Sunday-they are reaching thousands of people. The truth of Romans 8:28, “All things work together for good” is only true in context with verses 26 & 27 which tell us that when we pray in the Holy Spirit, God will take the devil’s meanest attacks and …

Big Dreams: Big Results In Stainless Steel

With 3,000 mouths to be fed three times per day, you can’t just take a few weeks off when the funds run short. FCOP often sees the brochures of those ministries that claim they feed children. That’s easy! Show up when they have some food, sponsor a meal, take some pictures, and claim bragging rights. The problem is, it works great as a fundraiser, and most donors don’t think about the difference between a ministry like that and feeding 3,000 people, 3 times per day, 365 days per year. One thing all Cambodian’s agree on is that a meal means …

Mak Sou Kicks The Hornets Nest

Mak Sou is a prophet and back in the mid-1980’s she prophesied that, “One day I will preach at Yoido Full Gospel Church” (at that time the largest church in the world pastored by Paul Yungi Cho).Dr. Ted Vail, Vice President of Global Operations of the Foursquare Church in America, invited Mak Sou to be a part of an interview panel at the World Missions Forum in conjunction with the World Pentecostal Conference held in Seoul, South Korea at Yoido Full Gospel Church. This was a time for Pentecostal leaders from various denominations to gather and discuss world missions and how we can bring ‘The Gospel to Everyone, …

Funeral Canceled

The doctors at the hospital sent the body home telling the family that the pastor was dead. Kong Seangny had pastored the church in Anlong Veng for more than twenty-two years. Her grave was dug, the casket was purchased, and FCOP’s General Supervisor Som Art was summoned to perform the funeral. The problem with the funeral is Som Art decided to pray. Why would God raise up an elderly pastor who had gone to her well-deserved reward? The truth is we will never know if she was truly dead; but we do know why God did it. The answer?… To save a dying church.
